Looking to purchase a hip but I've been informed that the maintenance and cleaning can be a bit unattractive, especially since it'll be my first.

@pancakewaffle96 Your semen isn't the only thing you have to worry about when it comes to mold, personally I'd worry far more about lube, since onahole safe lube is water based and you're getting it all over your toy.
If you really don't want to deal with cleaning, than I'd just have to recommend getting a toy that's low maintenance. Cleaning is just an inevitable part of owning onaholes. I clean mine right after use, it takes like 2 - 4 minutes and can be done without even thinking. I've been drop dead tired and cleaned a high-maintenance onahole before bed with no problems.
Some advice to prevent mold growth, use some white vinegar with about 5% acidity when cleaning, it'll make likelihood of mold lower and has apparently been used by some to get rid of mold growth.

@Jonarby Would 70% isopropyl alcohol work in place of white vinegar? I've got some that I used to use for fleshlights when I used those.

@Thedemonmemin Onaholes are very fragile and things like isopropyl alcohol would most likely be too harsh for the material to handle. You'd probably notice the toy deteriorate overtime faster than it otherwise would have. I've also never heard of alcohol being used as a mold prevention method, so I personally cannot recommend it.

I kill two birds with one stone here. I have owned many of the small/medium size hips, most of which are around 2 kg (Cherry 2, Poco Pen, Virginal Bloom, Neotenic Fairy, Moe Body, and HOBO MEKO among others). Warming toys adds a lot to the experience so I've found that a standard mop pale with a flat bottom functions really well for this. I fill it to the proper level with as hot of water as is safe and many of the toys will suction to the bottom of the pale if you press the flat side of the toy to the bottom. At that point they stay submerged. So it stays in place and in 15-20 mins gets warm. Even if it won't stay in place they submerge fairly well either way. Throw the lube bottle in as well and that helps too. You dry it off in 30 seconds, spend your time with your toy and then the pale serves as your cleaning station as well. A turkey baster etc. does well to get fluids in to flush it out and remove any ummmm material still there. You dry it again using a microfiber towel in the tunnels and you can then put it away. It takes 5 mins tops and I've never had an issue with mold unless there's a severe tear in the toy. Happened once out of like 8-10 toys and it was the layers coming apart so you couldn't dry it no matter what. At that point it's time to discard it anyway. Cleaning is a necessary evil unfortunately but it really isn't that bad. The mid size hips are IMO the sweet spot in toys. I have the HOBO and it's almost life size which can be fun (it weighs 13 lbs) but it's cumbersome. Those at 2kg have heft and aren't that much harder to clean than a sleeve. So you get the best of both worlds. The only toy I've ever just raged over cleaning is the moe body but it feels so damn good I just don't care. Hope that helps some and good luck finding a routine that works.

@pancakewaffle96 That will depend on the material of the toy, the lube, the temperature, the humidity, whether the tunnel is open to the air, bacteria, ................... it's your experiment that no one else can answer.....

@Belmar Well I'll probably get the Puni Ana Kiwami w/ Onatsuyu Pussy Juice lotion. If anyone has experience with this combination hopefully they can help provide information.

@pancakewaffle96 This highly depend son where you live and humidity of your home/area, temp and the material of the toy. There's no strict answer. Even if you use condoms I'd still clean and dry the toy within at least a few hours and dry to prevent mold as it's any moisture including old lube that can become your enemy.
